Notes of Meeting held at 9pm at 11 June 2002 at 28 SPC

    In Attendance:

Bill Wetterstad, Ian Sweeney, Martin Keiffer, Peter Conradi, Oliver Laughton-Scott

    Key Issue

There are clear benefits of having our ?own? web site as opposed to using a free ?community? site. However, this will only work is there is one central admin person. In order to avoid placing an intolerable burden on such a person everything that can be delegated must be delegated.

All submissions will be in Word in predetermined templates.

    Proposed Structure

    Administrator (Ian Sweeney)

    Co-coordinators (up to 10?)

Contributors (up to five(?) per co-coordinator)

The contributors would be responsible for generating text and submitting it to the co-coordinator. The co-coordinator would be responsible for checking the text is complete and submitting this to the administrator and developing their module of the web site.

    Modules

Certain modules would be relatively static (i.e. Useful Contacts) and others dynamic Local Organisations). This should be an important determinant in deciding what goes where.

In no particular order, the modules (for the time being) will be as follows:

Going out (defined as within ?walking distance?/Co-coordinator Peter Conradi/static?)

    Restaurants

    Pubs

    Cinema

    Quality shops

    Kids section (dynamic)

    Mother and Nannies programme

    Babysitting/Nanny share wants and offers

    Sunday football

    Adventure playground

    Scouts

    Adventure playground

    Handy tips!

    Useful Contacts (static?)

    Local services

    Council

    Medical

    Political organizations

    Local MP

    Estate agents

Police (internal link to neighbourhood watch)

    Recommended Tradesmen

    Local Organisations (dynamic)

    Residents association

    Newsletter

    Church (plus link)

    Choir

    Neighbourhood watch

Local Offers/Wants (only open to postings by people within the seven streets (this should be reviewed)/dynamic)

    Offers of skills/request for skills

    Link to individuals web sites

    Things to buy and sell

United We Stand (Coordinator David Tomlinson(?)/Dynamic)

    Planning issues

Major developments would have their own pages

Other issues of concern to residents

Events (Dynamic/Needs further consideration, could be second stage development, might be one person who reviews submissions and picks up items)

History (Coordinator-Ian Sweeney/Static/Need to define scope and type of issue that is of interest)

    Web Site Workings (Coordinator-Oliver Laughton-Scott(?)/Static)

    Philosophy

    Structure and Rule of use

    Who are the Co-coordinators

    How to submit material

How to set up a new module

    Strategy contacting people

    Request for new ideas

    Finding Coordinators

We need committed coordinators for each section. It is important that we involve a wide range of people who have appropriate interest.

Martin Keiffer has agreed to work on identifying and approaching the appropriate people.

    Other Matters

OLS to talk to residents association as acting as effective bankers to the Web Site.

    Action Points

Date of next meeting, Tuesday, 9th July 2002 at 9pm at 28 SPC.

Coordinators to be identified (Martin Keiffer).

Ian Sweeney to ?purchase? web site (OLS to organise payment)

Ian Sweeney to build word templates to aid submission.

    Coordinators commence contacting contributors.

OLS talk to residents association re banking arrangements.

We want to encourage as much fresh input to the site as possible. If you would like to contribute, please . All feedback is welcome.
