Minutes of meeting held on 28th March 2006

AGM date and agenda
It was decided to take up Liz’s suggestion that we hold the AGM on 28th September as the summer was proving impossible. Liz will organize reserving the hall with Andrew Grant as she has been liaising with him on this. Proposed speakers this year are:
- Neighbourhood Watch: David Tomlinson and it was noted that the police presence last year was a success so we wondered if David would be kind enough to invite them again, please.
- Planning: Simon Henley
- Traffic Calming: Liz Aves
- Slade Gardens: Veronica Plowden
- Lighting: Simon Doff

Summer Festival
Newsletter – Liz has copy and Darius would like to prepare it as soon as possible and definitely by the end of April ready for distribution at beginning of May with a separate flyer on coloured paper for festival at beginning of June.
Concert: evening Saturday 24th June. Liz and Amanda will organize a meeting to discuss publicity. AGT will obtain licence from council.
Children’s Entertainment:Saturday 24th June 11 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. Gardens, teas and BBQ: Sunday 25th June. Teas at the Miskins 58 SPC and BBQ at the Gotleys 60 SPC. SPRA has decided to purchase a barbecue which Gotleys will kindly house until next year. Maria will organize people to help with clearing up. Amanda will ask Rennards and her neighbour, Nick, if they could help barbecue. There will be an item in the newsletter asking for help. AGT will go on his annual SPRA shopping expedition.
Planning and environment
14-24 SPC – Liz has written on behalf of SPRA objecting to gated community.
32-34 SPC – Gates and fences applied for by flat residents.
Robsart Street – Maria reported that the block of flats behind the high even-numbered houses on SPC is to be sold for demolition.
Street signs – Liz reported that our street signs may be replaced with ones including ‘London Borough of Lambeth’ and its coat-of-arms. Liz to contact Anthony Bottrall to protest.
Traffic calming – Lambeth has advised the Association that it is revising traffic calming in the area as a result of meeting on 2nd February.
Treasurer
89 households have responded to requests for contribution towards running costs, leading to a total given of £1,055.00 since October 2005.
