Simon Doff reported all in order and up to date.
The committee extended heartfelt thanks to Gill and William Wayne on their excellent running of Neighbourhood Watch for the last few years and wished them luck in The Hague. They will be greatly missed.
Simon Doff will ask Andrew Brookes whether he would take over the role of Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator. The forthcoming Newsletter will contain a request as well.
Thanks to Caroline for continuing to address the problem of discarded needles. There has been noticeable progress with the cutting back of undergrowth etc. Thank you to Paul McCann, Community Safety Officer for Vassall Ward for his work obtaining the new Lorn Road allotments security gates. Paul has asked residents to inform him of problems in the Ward so he can deal with them promptly. The Community Safety Officer for Stockwell Ward is Dominic Busby.
Simon Doff reported that, while various issues are being sorted out at VARG, (particularly the funding of area's security cameras) our residents' association has stepped down from being Board members. Our active part in Community Safety meetings etc. will continue.
Simon Henley has kindly offered to take over local planning work. This will complement Robin Langton's willingness to advise on major planning issues.
Simon Doff reported that money has been allocated to improve lights in Lorn Road but not enough for Conservation-style lights. Councillor Sawden (responsible for environment in Lambeth) will meet with Councillors Dan Sabbagh and Anthony Bottrell in Lorn Road itself to consider the matter further. The Residents' Association will make sure Lorn Road residents know when the site visit takes place so that their opinions are taken into account.
It looks as if current plans for both are likely to be rejected.
Anthony reported progress being made, environmental noise 'soundings' taken. SPRA asked Councillor Pete Bowyer to help and he has been a tower of strength.
Anthony has a few more names/addresses to add to finalise the new distribution list. Thank you to Roberta Bonametti and Peter Conradi who have offered to be street representatives for Lorn Road. Liz to email them/confirm. Caroline Hirst and Amanda Cornish will be responsible for the whole of Stockwell Park Road, one side each. Liz, Darius and Jenny are just about to produce the latest newsletter.
Amanda will inform Angela at the playgroup. Liz and Amanda to do the bar: (Mulled wine?)
There will be a Party Planning meeting on Wednesday 3rd December at 28 Stockwell Park Road 7.30p.m.
Thank you Caroline for hosting this meeting.
