Present: Anthony Gladstone- Thompson, Philip Mason, Martin Kenyon, Amanda Cornish
Apologies: Charles de Freitas, Liz Aves, Gill and William Wayne.
Minutes of last meeting 22nd May: Approved.
Minutes of AGM 24th May: Caroline Hirst to be congratulated on her succinct and accurate minuting of a complicated meeting. How did AGM go? Well. Good attendance of about 50.
It was said at the AGM that planning permission had been granted for 8 maisonettes on Robsart Street site. In fact, this was a misunderstanding; planning permission has not been granted.
The committee congratulated Anthony on his chairmanship of the AGM and thanked him for his hard work preparing for it.
Anthony reported on his meeting with David Tomlinson.
Ticket selling for street party in progress. Festival card to be distributed this week.
Concert:
Philip, Charles, Simon, Martin and Anthony will be selling tickets. Philip and Charles will be in charge of bar.
'Opening time' will be soon after 6 p.m. so as to be ready for visitors to the Flower Festival 6.30 - c 7.15. Position of bar to be decided when Flower Festival lay-out clear .
Wines: Anthony to buy two dozen red and one dozen white for concert/ street party. 'Bring your own drink' to street party should cater for most but sensible to have some in reserve.
Special entrance prices to Concert and Street Party:
Members of choir may have free entry to concert but please can their families pay normal entry prices. Concessions were discussed for the Street Party, but the Committee felt differentiated price structure too complicated to administer fairly.
Treasury:
As usual, Simon's help will be needed to provide floats for concert/gardens please.
Planning: 75 SPR 'Archangel House'
Anthony tried to follow up enforcement officer's assertion that everything is as it should be but so far frustrated because planning documents not where they should be for viewing..
The Chairman has received a heartfelt anonymous letter written on behalf of the elderly family in No. 2 Stockwell Park Crescent. Allegedly, they are victims of prolonged harassment by Stockwell High School children who climb through their garden as a short cut into school. The letter reports abusive language, windows broken, burglaries.
Anthony has contacted the school but no reply yet.
Gill Wayne and William Wayne have tried to contact beat police officer, but at time of this meeting no reply yet.
Amanda Cornish will contact Mike Rush, Deputy Head of school.
Philip will write to Hyde Housing re: more secure fencing to garden.
Anthony G- T will ask Anthony Bottrall if pressure can be put on Education Department re: secure fencing round school. (Other Crescent residents alongside No.2 also suffer from their gardens being used as short cut through to school grounds.)
Many thanks to Martin Kenyon for hosting this meeting. ~
