The Landor on Landor Road is a pub to suit many tastes. Beer drinkers will like the range of real ales - normally three on at any one time - plus the usual mix of Guinness, lagers and bottled drinks. Since its refurbishment a few years ago, the pub is noticeable by the wide range of paraphernalia on the ceilings and walls. Home-cooked food is available most days (not Mondays) and there is an excellent beer garden, which on sunny days sometimes includes a barbecue. Good coffee is also available.
The pub boasts three pool tables and an active pool team - matches are on Monday nights and you can find more details at http://www.thelandor.com. On Thursdays there is an open pool KO, but get there early as it is limited to 16 players. They start taking names at about 7pm and it only costs ?2.
Upstairs is a fringe theatre, which has some good local plays and fringe touring plays. More details at http://www.landortheatre.co.uk. On the last Sunday of each month, the theatre becomes a no-smoking jazz bar with live music and table service.
On some Sunday evenings, the pub has a quiz night. Call (020) 7274 4386 to check when the next one is. Major sporting events are shown on big screens in the front and back bars.
