They moved to 210 Brixton Road from 165 Clapham Road (Annie McCall House) which is situated between Stockwell Park Road and Durand Gardens, after having lived there for over 15 years. The famous Victorian 'Stockwellian' doctor Annie McCall lived at 165 Clapham Road and she also used the building for teaching. The large mature garden of 165 Clapham Road is mentioned by a student of Dr McCall in a biography about her and in particular the magnificient mulberry tree that still stands there nearly 100 years later.
